Chiranjeevi is famous Indian film actor and also politician. He has appeared mainly in Telugu-language films along with a few Tamil and Hindi films. He is known for his extradorinary dances and fights apart from his power packed performances in films. His movies carry a reputation of being the best entertainers along with carrying a social message across to the audience.

He is well known as “Megastar” in Andra Pradesh. Chiru made an establisment of  Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust (CCT), which includes Blood and Eye Banks. It is the Andhra state's largest recipient of blood and eye donations. The Blood Bank of the CCT helped more than 80,000 people and the Eye Bank has helped about 1000 people in Andhra Pradesh since1998.

Early family life.

Chiranjeevi was born on 22nd August 1955 in Narasapura, West Godavari, Andhra Pradesh to a Hindu family.his father Venkata Rao was police constable in Andhra states and his mother Anjana Devi was ahouse wife.

Chiru studied school at Nidadavolu, Gurajala, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri and Mogalturu. After he entered  Sri Y N College, Narasapur for his B.com. After completing his graduation  in 1976, he moved to Chennai to join the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu for Diploma in Film Acting.

Chiru  married to Surekha, the daughter of veteran comedian of Tollywood Allu Ramalingaiah. They have two daughters and a son. His son Ram Charan Teja is an leading actor in the Tollywood.

Chiru’s brother Nagendra Babu is a famous producer,his youngest brother Pawan Kalyan is also famous actor in Tollywood.

Career.

After completion of his Diploma course at Madras Film Institute he became a professional film actor. His first public performance was in a government parade ballet at the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 1976.

Chiru started his film career through Telugu film "Punadhi Rallu" in 1978, which was moderate success. Later that he came up with a negative role in the film 'Intilo Ramayya Vidhilo Krishnayya' (1981).

His majior  roles in movies such as Abilasha, Adavidonga, Master, Kondaveeti Donga, Kodama Simham,  Chantabbayi, Challenge, Gang Leader, Indra, Tagore etc. were all block buster movies  in Tollywood. Chiranjeevi isn't just limited to Telugu film industry. He made foray into Hindi,Kannada and Tamil movies where he earned notable fame. His lead role in Pratibandh released in 1990 made him popular in Bollywood.

Unfortunately, he encounters a phase of failure including movies like Mechanic Alludu, SP Parasuram, Big Boss, Rickshavodu proved to be commercially failed at box office. Mugguru Mongallu, Alluda Majaka did average at the box office. Big Boss and Rikshavodu were mere formula films. The controversy raked by Alluda Majaaka for some double-intender dialogues and few scenes affected Chiru’s image among his fans.

After great gaphe gained in Rickshavodu and also emerged out with much mature as well as  versatile portrayal with the film Hitler followed by ‘Master’, ‘Choodaalani Vundi’, ‘Sneham Kosam’, ‘Sneham Kosam’, ‘Iddaru, ‘Baavagaaru Baagunnara’, Mithrulu’, ‘Annayya’, ‘Indra’, ‘Stalin’, ‘Shankar Dada MBBS’ and Chiranjeevi fans are eagerly awaiting his  next  release of Shankar Dada Zindabad.
In January 2006, Mr Chiranjeevigaaru  was honored with the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award in India.
In November 2006, Chiranjeevi was awarded with a honorary doctorate by Andhra University for his services to the Telugu film industry and for his social work, A P Govt Nandi Awards for Swayankrushi (1987) and Apatbandhavudu (1992).
