Salman Khan is one of the leading actor in Bollywood. Often known as Bollywood's Bad boy, his knack of walking into trouble has overshadowed people's perception of him as an actor.  But many-a-common-man claims that this macho hunk has a heart made of pure gold.
Sallu is one of the hottest star. Has been charming his fans since 1989. He debuted in the Bollywood, as a leading star, with the movie ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’. The film was a major success and since its release, Sallu has been climbing the ladder of success.  Family life.

Salman Khan was born on 27th December 1965, in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. To a Muslim family as‘Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan’. His father Salim Khan, is a scriptwriter who gave hit films like Sholay and Don, and his mother, Salma Khan, was a house wife.

 His paternal grandfather came to India from Afghanistan and settled in Madhya Pradesh whereas his mother is a Marathi Brahmin. His stepmother is Helen, a former Bollywood actress

 He was one of the five children of his parents, the other being two sons, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, and two daughters, Alvira and Arpita.

Sallu completed his schooling through St. Stanislaus High School in Bandra, Bombay, as did his younger brothers Arbaaz & Sohail. Earlier, he studied at The Scindia School, Gwalior for a few years along with younger brother Arbaaz.

 In the late-1980s, Salman Khan started visiting producers and auditioning for roles. He debuted in the film industry, in a supporting role, in 1988, with the movie ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’.

 Career.

Salman Khan started his acting in the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi where he played a supporting role.He appeared in his first leading role in a Bollywood movie was in Sooraj R. Barjatya's romantic family drama Maine Pyar Kiya (1989). The film went on to become one of India's major grossing films. It also won him a Film fare Best Male Debut Award, and a nomination for Film fare Best Actor Award.

Following with other box office hits he showed his terrific performance in Saajan (1991), Andaz Apna Apna (1994),Hum Apke Hain Koun…! (1994), Karan Arjun(1995), Khamoshi: The Musical (1996), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998). His transformations can be sensitive, vulnerable, funny, aggressive and charming as his role demands.
In 1999, Sallu won a Film fare Best Supporting Actor Award for his good appearance in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), and since then has starred in somany critical and commercial hits, like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999), Tere Naam (2003), No Entry (2005), Partner (2007), Wanted (2009) and Dabangg (2010), which has become the second highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time after 3 Idiots.

Personal Life
Since the past so many years, Sallu  has been famous for his amazing body. He is one of the first actors who realized the importance of bodybuilding and having six-pack abs.
In 2004, U.S.People magazine voted him as the 7th best-looking man in the World and the best looking man in India.
 He has had relationships with a number of actress and models in the past, which include Sangeeta Bijlani, Somy Ali and Aishwarya Rai. Touted to be the ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’ of Bollywood.
In October 2007, he accepted an offer to have his wax replica in Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London. The life-size wax statue was installed there in January 2008.

  Controversies.

Throughout his career, Salman Khan has been involved in several controversies.
He was arrested and sentenced to jailed for poaching endangered wild animals after allegedly shooting a rare black antelope near Jodhpur (12 October 1998).
·        Arrested for culpable homicide following the death of a man in a car accident in Bombay.
·        Mr. Sallu was involved in an incident in which several homeless people were hit by a car in an area of north Bombay.
·        The film star has been charged with "culpable homicide not amounting to murder". He also faces charges of drunk driving and not having a valid license. If convicted, he could be jailed for up to 10 years(October 2002)

Had a well publicised affair with Aishwarya Rai which lasted 2 years. He also accused in another press conference in 2003 by Vivek Oberoi to have called him on his mobile several times during one night and threatened him with death.
