Ghattamaneni Mahesh babu is one of the reputed actor in the present Telugu film industry.He is popularly known as Prince Mahesh Babu in Andhra. Ghattamaneni Mahesh babu is a very tall and handsome person.He had stolen the hearts of audience.

Early Family Life.

Mahesh Babu was born on 9 August 1974 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to a Andhra based hindu family his father Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna was a famous actor and mother Indira Devi is house wife.

 He has four siblings namely Ramesh Babu, Padmavathi, Manjula and a younger sister, Priyadarshini.

He completed his  schooling at St Bede's School in Chennai and obtained an Honours Degree in Commerce (B.Com.,) from famous  Loyola College, Chennai.

Mahesh Babu acted in seven of his father's films as a child actor. His first child acting role was in the film Needa.

Career.

Mahesh performing in film industry since he was young. Therefore acting got into his blood and the moment he finished his studies he took up acting as his career. Mahesh’s first appearance on the screen was by the film ‘Needa’. It was a very brief shot. Then he appeared in ‘Poraatam’. After seeing ‘Poraatam’ famous producer Doondi predicted that Mahesh would grow into a star one day, as the prediction turned out to be true today.

1999 to 2003 Telugu film  Raja Kumaradu was Mahesh’s major  debut as hero alongside  Preity Zinta. His role as Raja won him the Nandi Best Male Debut.

 In 2000, he appeared  in Yuvaraju and Vamsi, in which he shared screen space with co-star Namrata Shirodkar and his father Krishna.

Baabu performed in  Murari in the year of  2001 with Sonali Bendre. This film  gave  him the Nandi Award for Special Jury. He won the award again in 2002 for Takkari Donga alongside Lisa Ray and Bipasha Basu.

In  2003 was another year for award winning performances with Nandi Award for Best Actor for Nijam and Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award for Okkadu opposite  Bhoomika Chawla.

2004 to present  Another Nandi Award for Special Jury went his way for his role in Arjun. But the movie was moderate success at box office.

 The other release in 2004 was Naani,well at box office. Athadu in 2005 was a money spinner and won him another Nandi Best Actor Award. The 2006 release Pokiri, made around the realty mafia, won him thename and fame also Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award for his portrayal of Pandu,. Athidi with Amrita Rao released in 2007 was directed by his own brother Ramesh Babu. There were no releases in 2008. However his fans can look forward to Varudu which has him playing a taxi driver alongside Parvati Melton

Mahesh dated his co-star in the movie Vamsi, Bollywood actress Namrata Shirodkar for two years. Later  They got married on February 10, 2005, and have a son named Gautham Krishna.
