Genelia is one of the leading actress in south Indian film industry as well as Bollywood.
She is also well-known model and Television Presenter. She has hosted T V show Big Switch. D’Souza is the brand ambassador for Fanta, LG Mobiles, Virgin Mobile India, Fastrack, Garnier Light, Margao and Perk. Early family life. Genelia born 05.08.1987 in Mumbai to a Mangalore based Catholic family. Her father, Neil D’Souza is a senior official in TCS and mother Jeanette D’Souza was former secretary to a managing director with a Pharma MNC.Geneliya also has one younger brother, namely Nigel D’Souza.

Genelia completed her high school at the Apostolic Carmel High School in Bandra and later she joined St. Andrew's College in Bandra to pursue her Bachelor's Degree of Management Studies. She completed her graduation while acting her first film Tujhe Meri Kasam in the year of 2003.
*In collage days she joined for sports events, she was a National level football player and state level athlete n sprinter also.
While studying she signed up for her first modeling assignment with Parker Pen commercial with Amithabh Bachchan,and she appreciated well in the modeling field.later that she appeared in Fair and Lovely 2003 Cricket World Cup advertisement along with cricketer Krishnamachari Srikanth.
She is supposed to be dating Riteish Deshmukh.
Career. After successful commercial Parker Pen and Fair and Lovely, she was offerd a role in Tujhe Meri Kasam. Following her poor debut in Bollywood, she entered south Indian film industry. She played leading role in Tamil film Boys directed by S.Shankar. Simultaneously she signed another one Telugu movie, Satyam.
In 2004 again she appeared in her Bollywood film Masti. The comedy focuses on three close friends who reunite after three years, but are now married and are being harassed by their wives. D'Souza portrayed the character of one of the wives. This film fared well at the box office. Later that year she appeared in two Telugu films Samba and Sye, both are successful at box office.
Her next movies were Telugu movie Naa Alludu and Tamil romantic Movie Sachein.later she performed in Telugu patriotic film Subhash Chandra Bose.
In 2006 she appeared in two Telugu movies Happy and Raam. The same year she played a major role in Telugu Romantic movie Bommarillu, which was a blockbuster at the box office and 250 million grossed in India. This movie also won the Golden Nandi 2006 Award.
In 2008 Geneliya acted in Telugu romantic thriller Mr.Medhavi, and her role was appreciated. The same year she made her Kannada debut in Satya in Love. Later that year she appeared in Bommarillu Tamil remake Santhosh Subramaniam.
In 2008 she returned to Bollywood, and appeared in Mere Baap Pehle Aap. But this movie is failed to book the profit at box office.
Later she performed in Telugu love story Ready alongside Ram. After that she appeared in the blockbuster movie Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na, which was highest grosser of the year. In the same year she appeared in Telugu romantic comedy Sasirekha Parinayam. This film was well at box office and received favorable reviews.
In 2009 Geneliya performed in Hindi movie Life Partner and Telugu film Katha. Both movies are well received.
